ultra 60 serial console

Is there any known issue regarding ultra 60 serial console?
I disconnected keyboard and try to boot up, the monitor shows,
no input-device, switching to ttya
then black out (which is reasonable).
But over the serial console side, nothing is show up.
Then I connect back keyboard, at ok prompt,
setenv output-device ttya
reset
Again serial side nothing at all.
"setenv output-device ttyb" tried also not working :(
Any suggestions are welcome, thanks
