Possible to Alter Serial Number of RAID-Lun?

I've an HP AutoRAID with dual SCSI (dual ports of LUN's) that I've attached
to a Sun Enterprise server via UWSCSI-Differential HBA's. The LUN's can be
seen - twice in fact meaning that the disks are dual ported albeit
active-passive. I've been able to use Volume Manager 3.1.1 and 3.2 but have
not been able to enable DMP on the LUN's as the LUNS do not present a Serial
Number. My Question: under expert mode of Format - is it possible to insert
a serial number to a LUN's label so that vxdmpinq sees unique serial number
and hence allow DMP?
