Possibly OT: Memory/CPU boards

This may come across as a really stupid question, but I honestly cannot
find an answer anywhere, so bear with me.
I'm about to order a bunch of new CPUs and memory for the E4k
downstairs, and was wondering a cpl of things.
a) Can you mix CPU modules on separate boards? ie - Can I have one board
with two 366Mhz processors and another board with two 187Mhz processors?
b) can I install memory on a board without a CPU on it?
