logrotate library error

I took a precompiled version of logrotate SMClogr 3.3 and installed on my
Solaris 8 server. I am getting the following messages whenever I try to run
logrotate:
ld.so.1: /usr/local/bin/logrotate: fatal: libpopt.so.0: open failed: No such
file or directory
Killed
Does anyone have experience with this?
