2:What is the best way to get more space on /usr/local?

RESPONSE:

I think your problem here is not space in /usr/local but space in

/var/tmp

(used as spooling space during pkgadd). I can't remember the details,

but

I am sure I read in a previous sun-managers question something about

problems installing when the /var filesystem is not sufficient. I think

you can resolve it temporarily in the same way make a link to a large

space, install emacs, then cancel the link because the space is only

needed during installation.

Worth trying anyway

Delete the man pages. /usr/share/man/*

You could move /usr/dt to /dt on a new partition and create a link from

/usr/dt

to /dt. You can do that with other things to like /local.
