SUMMARY: root pwd urgently needed on box running veritas

here, I fixed the problem and no one shouted at anybody.
Several people suggested that I could still mount c0t0d0s0, so I (fsck'd it
first cos I had to) did, altered the shadow file and this fixed the problem.

I have an E420 which has a veritas mirrored rootdisk. We lost the root
passwd.
If this box wasn't mirrored, we could boot from cdrom, and change shadow
file, but cos of veritas, we can't.
Does anyone know the procedure to do this? I have VERY little time in which
to accomplish this task.
To further complicate this matter, the machine was stop-A'd and now has
rootfs inconsistencies, and we can't get to single user (no passwd) to run
fsck manually.
