Oracle upgrade on Sun Cluster 2.2
2007-12-25 3:17:00
currently provide sys admin for a 2 node cluster. Hardware is 2 x E4500
running Solaris 2.6 & Cluster 2.2. Each node is connected to a D1000 (O/S +
apps) and 2 x A5200 photon's for data storage.
Each node runs an instance Oracle 8.1.6 & an upgrade to Oracle 9i has been
suggested. As the cluster already has the Oracle data service registered. My
very simplistic thoughts are that the cluster could be put into maintenance
mode and the Oracle upgrade can be performed. The Oracle upgrade would leave
the new Oracle binaries in the exact same location as they currently are.
Has anyone done this procedure before? Offer any advice?
Thanks in advance - Julian.
