Applying 108993-33 to the miniroot
2007-12-25 3:09:00
I'm trying to add the Tivoli backup/archive client to our miniroot, so
we can have it available when booted with 'boot net -s' for quick recovery.
We installed the TIVsmCba and TIVsmCapi packages on our jumpstart
server. These two packages require two patches, the first installed
without a hitch but the second is 108827-35 (Thread Library patch). This
patch is no longer available and has been obsoleted by 108993 so I tried
to install 108993 to our miniroot, using:
patchadd -C /install/Solaris_8/Solaris_8/Tools/Boot/ 108993-33
This fails because there is no /var/sadm/pkg in the miniroot.
/usr/sbin/patchadd[6]:
/install/Solaris_8/Solaris_8/Tools/Boot/var/sadm/pkg: not found
grep: can't open */pkginfo
grep: can't open */pkginfo
Checking installed patches...
ERROR: This patch requires the following patches
which have not been applied to the system:
108528-24 108989-01 110386-01 111023-03 111317-05 113648-03
115827-01 116602-01
The patches it complains about are actually installed on the miniroot
though.
So I'm left with a bunch of questions: Has anyone tried using TSM from
the miniroot? How did you get around the patch-issues? Would it work
without the patches? Is there something wrong with this patch that Sun
might have to fix?
Regards, Paul Boven.
