tcp/ip routing problem

2007-12-25 11:41:00

hi gurus,

Many many thanX to all who responded. the list is very long.

everybody pointed out that it was a DNS (name resolution) issue. indeed it

was.

the host A entry was not there in the host database of host B at all where

as host C entry was there. so when C tried to login to B it gives the login

prompt very fast but not to A.

before giving a telnet session to any host the server tried to do a reverse

lookup and if it can't get the hosts address eventually it will give the

connection and thus it will be delayed.

thanX a lot again to all who responded. I added the host A to B's database

and its now working smoothly.

ThanX again.
