SUMMARY: jumpstarting netra X1

it transpires that in order to jumpstart a netra X1, one must have AT LEAST
10/00 solaris 8.
the patch mis.netra-x1.259-3836-02.zip solicited from www.sun.com/netra
(looking to the right of the page and click "netra x1 software drivers")
must be applied. you may have to fill in registration to get at this patch.
you MUST use a sparc machine in order to jump these boxes as it has been
suggested that one is unable using intel based profile servers.
i have not yet performed a successful install, as i am awaiting a newer copy
of sol8 to arrive, before ripping out my 2.8 boot image and replacing it,
but attempting to use the one i had (too old) caused the
modify_install_server script supplied with the mis patch to error when
trying to install certain patches. even then, 110693-01 (which i had read
is important) installed ok. the netra then was unable to mod_load the dmfe
driver on jump.
