retaining file system permissions to default values ?

Hi,

By accidently user have run chmod -R <user>:grp on /usr and /var file
system and the file system is not coming up..
Its saying invalid permissions ...........

Is there any way/scripy to retain the permissions of derfault File
systems ie /,/usr & /var to default value which have been at installation
time ?
