Identify restore file in lost+found

checked the archive/sunsolve, all that I could find was Sun FAQ 1484, which talked about using the file system debugger (fsdb). I guess what I am looking for is general info.
when where they put in lost+found?, what were the original file names?, any info appreciated.
I have just been handed this, so know little about the history of this system.
