SUN36G

Maybe simple question. I have a disk format as SEAGATE-XXXX-etc and I want to change it to type SUN36G however the SUN36G is not available. I have checked other systems having disks formatted as
SUN36G and checked the /etc/format.dat but still no reference to SUN36G. Can someone give me a clue ?
