I am transitioning to NIS win soalris and HPux.
The master box is Solaris and my question is Solaris uses the /etc/shadow
for securtiy and places an "*" in the passwd field.
In HP a "*" (astrik) means its a locked file.
What is the solution ?
IS there a way to deavitvate the shadow file in Solaris and use encrytion in
the passwd file in the /etc/passwd file ?
